Harpers Ferry, where the industry-filled Potomac meets the storied Harpers Ferry, has been special to Hangouts Hosts, Amanda and Jesse Hess, for decades. It has so many secrets to share, from pivotal Civil War battlefields and relics of the industrial revolution boom and bust, to incredible outdoor adventures and modern entertainment.
They’ve planned a full week of Hangout activities designed to help give you new insights into this special region. "Attendees will travel from Harpers Ferry to Antietam, Maryland, back through the oldest town in West Virginia (Shepherdstown), and down the river in between. Together, we’ll hike on the Appalachian Trail--OK, not the full 2,100 miles that so many hikers brave, but we'll be walking in their footsteps on a much more manageable two-mile loop! We’ll show you the unbeatable view from Jefferson Rock, one of the area’s most famous landmarks. And as many times as we’ve visited ourselves, we've not yet taken the official tour of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park with a certified guide, so we’re looking forward to seeing its history through new eyes alongside others in our RV community.
We are so excited to get to share our love for the Harpers Ferry area with our fellow Escapees and Xscapers. We know you’ll leave the Hangout not just with new friends, but also with a new appreciation for the region."
