We thought you should know...

Escapees RV Club has a long history of advocating on behalf of RVers to fight against detrimental laws and unfair regulations. Escapees also aims to inform RVers about legislation that may impact the RV lifestyle and the freedoms we enjoy.

Members that are considering using South Dakota as their domicile should be aware that there is a proposed bill to change the voting requirements for registering to vote in South Dakota counties. During the last South Dakota legislative session, the voting law was changed that to register to vote, you must be a resident of the State for 30 days. At that time, it was not defined what constituted 30 days.

The proposed law has tightened the requirement that you must be in the state for 30 consecutive days before registering to vote. Not only is the Escapees mail service affected by this new law, but also the other mail forwarding services in South Dakota are as well. As Escapees receives more information about the 30-day requirement for voting, we will share this with the membership.

Should you have any further concerns, please write in directly to clubbusiness@escapees.com.
