"I think back to when Joe and I started full-timing in a third-hand, 26-foot trailer. Yes, it would have been fun to have a big, new RV with all the bells and whistles. Yet, we stayed in places where we could not have gone with a big RV. And, we found over time that the more you have invested, the less willing you are to take the very risks that lead to adventures."

Another One Bites the Dust: Valley Fever in the Southwest
By Laura Star, Guest Contributor
"I knew only one other person who had experienced Valley fever in the area (another campground host), so in consulting her I learned what I could expect, and it was not a pretty picture.
During my couch time, I did some research. This is what I learned, primarily from the University of Arizona website, “Valley Fever Center for Excellence.” |

Have you experienced Valley Fever? Starting on page 13, find out what Laura discovered in her search for information about this illness. |

"Stop!" Mastering the Art of Backing into a Campsite
By Laura Star, Guest Contributor
"On the maiden voyage of our first small trailer many years ago, my husband started backing into a campsite as I naively stood next to the picnic table. I realized at that moment that he expected me to provide backing-up guidance. I didn’t have a clue. “Okay, stop!,” was all that I could muster which was not helpful. He was not impressed.
I have not only learned the hand gestures and voice commands that my partner expects but have also become proficient in backing up a trailer myself. I even enjoy it." |
|
|
If you can relate to this scenario, you must be an RVer! We all have to start somewhere, but backing up your RV can be one of the biggest sources of conflict for RVing couples. Read Laura's tips to back up successfully and save your partnership in the process. Read more starting on page 41. |

Escapees Mail Service: Reliable Mail Forwarding & Domicile Solutions for Travelers
by Melanie Carr #3
"RVers, boaters and extended travelers are constantly on the move, making it difficult to receive important mail and packages at a fixed address. Mail-forwarding services ensure they never miss critical documents or packages by providing a stable mailing address where mail can be securely received, sorted and forwarded to their current location. These services also allow you to establish residency ensuring you can meet legal requirements while enjoying a nomadic lifestyle." |
|
|
Starting on page 51, Melanie describes how mail forwarding works, frequently asked questions, and how you can get your mail while being nomadic. |
