Kids gather at Kidscapade, an Escapade activity
RVing kids come together for Kidscapade, a kid-friendly program during Escapade, to get to know other young RVers and learn new skills and information.
As RVers, we often live nomadic lives, venturing from one location to the next with our minds and hearts set on our individual travel goals. This can make it difficult to seed and cultivate friendships, especially if rallies and other RV-centric events don't fit your travel schedule or budget.
To help you find and connect with others like you, we have created online communities where you can get to know other RVers who share common interests, goals, and much more.

Tammy Johnson
Escapees Magazine Editor

In this new feature of Member News, we want to introduce you to some of the people who help us support you in your travels!

First up is Tammy Johnson, the editor behind Escapees magazine, our bi-monthly publication enjoyed by many of our members.
Q: Have you filled multiple roles at Escapees?
A: Yes, many: I started as a filer, moved to pulling and packaging mail, from there it was on to mail service operator, to the calling card department (back before cell phones when many members used a calling card to make long-distance calls) and finally, I joined the editorial team.

Q: What is one thing you wish more members knew about Escapees?
A: I think all members should know the history of how the club was founded and the interesting story of Joe and Kay Peterson. The fact that in the past much of the work at events and at the SKP parks were done by volunteers is amazing!

Q: When you aren’t helping RVers at Escapees, what do you enjoy doing?
A: I enjoy making bath bombs and car air fresheners. I also like to cook, fish, garden and spend time with my husband and two adult children.
